Simon John PeggΒ (né Beckingham) is an English actor, comedian and screenwriter. He came to prominence in the UK as the co-creator of theΒ Channel 4Β sitcomΒ SpacedΒ (1999β2001), directed byΒ Edgar Wright. He and Wright co-wrote the filmsΒ Shaun of the DeadΒ (2004),Β Hot FuzzΒ (2007), andΒ The World's EndΒ (2013), known collectively as theΒ Three Flavours CornettoΒ trilogy, all of which saw Wright directing and Pegg starring alongsideΒ Nick Frost. Pegg and Frost also wrote and starred in the sci-fi comedy filmΒ PaulΒ (2011). Pegg is one of the few performers to have achieved whatΒ Radio TimesΒ calls the "Holy Grail ofΒ Nerd-dom", having played popular supporting characters inΒ Doctor WhoΒ (2005),Β Star TrekΒ asΒ Montgomery "Scotty" ScottΒ (2009β2016), andΒ Star Wars: The Force AwakensΒ (2015). He stars as Benji Dunn in theΒ Mission: ImpossibleΒ film seriesΒ (2006βpresent). He provided the voice of Buck inΒ Ice Age: Dawn of the DinosaursΒ (2009),Β Ice Age: Collision Course(2016), andΒ The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (2022).
