Ruth Alexandra Elisabeth JonesΒ (born 22 September 1966) is a Welsh actress, comedian, writer and producer. She co-wrote and co-starred in the critically acclaimedΒ BBCΒ sitcomΒ Gavin & StaceyΒ (2007β2010, 2019, 2024), for which she won theΒ BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy PerformanceΒ in 2025. She also co-wrote and starred in theΒ Sky OneΒ comedy-dramaΒ Stella (2012β2017), for which she was nominated for theΒ BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy PerformanceΒ and theΒ BAFTA CymruΒ Award for Best Screenwriter. Jones has appeared in various television series, includingΒ Fat FriendsΒ (2000β2005),Β Little Britain (2003β2007),Β Nighty NightΒ (2004β2005),Β SaxondaleΒ (2006β2007) andΒ The StreetΒ (2009).
