Melanie Janine Brown MBE (born 29 May 1975), commonly known as Melanie B or Mel B, is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. She rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of the girl group Spice Girls, in which she was nicknamed Scary Spice. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the group became the best-selling female group of all time. Since 2007, she has established herself as a television personality and talent show judge. She participated in theΒ fifth seasonΒ of the American dance competition seriesΒ Dancing with the StarsΒ (2007). Between 2011 and 2016, she served as a guest and main judge on theΒ AustralianΒ andΒ BritishΒ versions ofΒ The X Factor. She also co-presented theΒ Australian versionΒ ofΒ Dancing with the StarsΒ forΒ one seasonΒ (2012). She judged on theΒ NBCΒ reality showΒ America's Got TalentΒ (2013β2018), served as a coach and mentor onΒ The Voice Kids AustraliaΒ (2014) and judged onΒ The Masked Singer AustraliaΒ (2022). From 2016 to 2018, she co-presentedΒ Lip Sync Battle UKΒ alongside rapperΒ Professor Green.
