Letitia Michelle WrightΒ (born 31 October 1993) is a British actress.Β She began her career with guest roles inΒ Top Boy,Β Coming Up,Β Chasing Shadows,Β Humans,Β Doctor Who, andΒ Black Mirror. For the latter, she received aΒ Primetime Emmy AwardΒ nomination. She then had her breakthrough for her role in the 2015 filmΒ Urban Hymn,Β for which theΒ British Academy of Film and Television ArtsΒ (BAFTA) named Wright among the 2015 group of BAFTA Breakthrough Brits. In 2018, she attained global recognition for her portrayal ofΒ ShuriΒ in theΒ Marvel Cinematic UniverseΒ filmΒ Black Panther, for which she won anΒ NAACP Image AwardΒ and aΒ SAG Award. She reprised the role inΒ Avengers: Infinity WarΒ (2018),Β Avengers: EndgameΒ (2019), andΒ Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverΒ (2022). In 2019, she received theΒ BAFTA Rising Star Award.
