Douglas 'Doug' Chapman is a Canadian stunt coordinator, stunt performer, actor, and director. He's also a member of Stunts Canada . He began both his acting and stunt work career in 1996 with the filmΒ Street Gun (1996). Since then, he worked continuously throughout film and television series, includingΒ SmallvilleΒ (2001),Β Fantastic FourΒ (2005) andΒ Stargate: AtlantisΒ (2004). He has been aΒ stunt doubleΒ forΒ Kurt Russell,Β Dermot Mulroney, Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe, Robert Englund,Β andΒ Christian Slater. He has also performed stunts for manyΒ commercials, including precision driving for commercials for Honda and Chrysler. Notable acting roles includeΒ Sergeant ColeΒ inΒ Stargate AtlantisΒ and Roy Chess inΒ Watchmen. He has been involved with movies such asΒ Freddy vs. JasonΒ (2003),Β X2: X-Men UnitedΒ (2003),Β 300Β (2006) andΒ WatchmenΒ (2009) among a countless heap of credits. In the filmΒ Watchmen, he performed the first ever bare-skin burn stunt performance in a feature film. He was nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Fire Stunt in 2004 for stunts performed in the film Freddy vs. Jason (2003), in which he doubled for actor Robert Englund, and performed a full body burn and wire stunt. In addition to acting and stunt performing, Douglas has worked as a second unit director and stunt coordinator.
