DavidΒ Banner (born Lavell William Crump, April 11, 1974, ht. 6'2") is an American rapper, record producer, and occasional actor. He graduated fromΒ Southern UniversityΒ with aΒ bachelor's degree, then attended University of Maryland Eastern ShoreΒ to pursue aΒ master's. He started his music career as a member of the rap duo, Crooked Lettaz, before going solo in 2000 with the release entitledΒ Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1. In 2003, Banner signed toΒ Universal Records, where he released four albums:Β Mississippi: The AlbumΒ (2003),Β MTA2: Baptized in Dirty WaterΒ (2003),Β CertifiedΒ (2005), andΒ The Greatest Story Ever ToldΒ (2008). He is also a noted producer, having produced music for himself,Β Trick Daddy,Β T.I.,Β Lil BoosieΒ andΒ Lil WayneΒ among others. He started his own podcast named The David Banner Podcast.
